Save & Export Charts

After you have created a new chart you may want to save your chart to one of your current projects or export it directly into png, pdf or xls format. Please see the guidelines below to learn how to use the Save & Export functions in the Chart Creator.

 

Save a Chart

In the Chart Creator, click on the Save as… icon on the tool bar to open the saving options.

 

In the Save new query popup you will have three different options to save your chart to. Follow the instructions of your preferred saving route below to save your chart to the desired project.

 

Save a chart to a new dashboard

 

If you have just started to create your first charts in datapine you will need to save your chart to a new dashboard.

 

  1. If you haven’t given your chart a name yet enter the name next to Save as.
  2. Select New Dashboard if you want to create a new dashboard and save your chart there.
  3. Give your new dashboard a name.
  4. Click Save to finish the process. The dashboard will be created and your chart will be saved to it.

Save a chart to an existing dashboard

 

If you have some dashboards setup already you might want to save your chart to one of these existing dashboards.

 

  1. Add the name of your chart.
  2. Select Existing Dashboard to add your chart to a dashboard in your list.
  3. Click on the dropdown menu and select a dashboard.
  4. Click on Save and you will get back to the Chart Editor. You can now access this chart in the selected dashboard.

Save a chart to a project / My Desk

 

If you don’t want to save your chart to one of your current dashboards, you may want to save it to your MyDesk area.

 

  1. Assign a name to your chart.
  2. Select My Desk to add your chart to a project.
  3. Click on the dropdown menu and select a project. If you need to create a new project enter a title and click on +Create.
  4. Click on Save and your chart will be saved to the selected project. You can now access this chart in MyDesk.

Export Charts

Click on the Export Icon to open the Export Options popup.

 

In the Export Options popup, you can download your chart into xls, pdf or png and choose whether you want to share the export with someone else via email. Please follow the steps below on how to export a chart from the Chart Creator.

 

  1. Select the preferred file format.
  2. If you wish to share your chart with someone else click on Send as E-Mail. Add the recipients email address and optionally add a customized subject line and message.
  3. Click on export to start the download or to send your export to your selected recipients.
